Welcome to Tulip Care Tips, and thanks for stopping by.

Tulips are often the first flowers we see after a long and gray winter. Sometimes there are still piles of dirty snow in shopping center parking lots when the first tulips begin to bloom, and that makes them all the more special in my eyes.

I first began to notice tulips when I moved to West Michigan. Here the annual Tulip Festival is attended by thousands of people, and the tulips on display are some of the prettiest I’ve seen. But I didn’t want to have to go to the festival to enjoy tulips, I wanted them in my own yard, where I could see them every day.

I set out to learn to grow tulips, and I found so much conflicting advice that I nearly gave up. For a long time I satisfied my flower curiosity with simple annuals I bought and planted every year, and every year I would see the tulips around town and wish I could have them in my yard, too.

Then one year a tulip appeared in my yard. To this day I don’t know where it came from, but the presence of that single red tulip convinced me that they just couldn’t be that difficult to grow, if this one could appear from nowhere. So I went back to reading and learning about tulips, and I’ve collected the information I’ve discovered and put it all here, in one place, so other people can grow beautiful tulips, too.

I hope you find the information I’ve compiled for you to be helpful. On the Articles page you will find advice about getting started growing tulips and how to grow tulips under special conditions. If you’re in the market for a few new garden toys (and who isn’t?) make sure you check out my shopping pages. I’ve included links to online stores for your convenience.

And don’t forget to sign up for our Newsletter. Every week I send out great tips and tricks for getting the most enjoyment out of your tulip garden. I also sometimes send out special offers from Tulip Care Tips sponsors that you won’t find anyplace else.

Lastly, if you have any questions about growing tulips, please send me an email using the Contact page, and I’ll do my best to help you out.

Happy Gardening!
